If all you knew of Sebastian was his personality, you would never be able to guess that he had been a victim of such horrible abuse. I believe that he has no memory of the attack at all. He doesn't even seem to mind that his sight is gone. Sebastian loves everyone; men, women, and children. He is happy, energetic, and full of life. Simply put, Sebastian is a joy to be around.
Sebastian stays with us at our pet supply store where he gets lots of attention from the customers and loves every minute of it. His first day at the store, he would cry softly whenever a customer left, but he has since figured out that there will always be another one coming by. |

During the day, Sebastian is tethered to the store counter so that he can wander between the back room and his own area of the sales floor. His bed is out front so he can wait comfortably for each customer that comes by. The only bad part is that he has to share the store with eight cats, most of whom are only politely tolerant of the rescue sheepies.

At night, Sebastian stays in his crate. He was not too happy with the crate at first, but a few well-timed rewards has changed his attitude completely. Now he hurries into his crate so quickly when we tell him to, we have to be right there to make sure he doesn't bump his head finding his way in. |

Sebastian had never been on a leash before. Even on the Army base, he was allowed to run without physical restraint. (It was a controlled area and he was closely watched.) It took him a little while to get used to it, but he is getting much better all the time. We walk him on a 25 foot training lead to allow him to romp and play as much as possible. He responds very quickly to our tugs and hardly ever gets tangled up. We can run around in the field now and even walk through a grove of trees with little danger of him bumping his head.

Sebastian seems to love everyone, but he is getting frustrated that the cats don't want to play with him. Today, he thought one of the cats was on the bench by his bed and he kept bumping it with his nose to get it to play. Too bad it was just a pillow! |

We introduced Sebastian to an older OES rescue of ours, Maggie. We got them together this weekend for a walk and romp. Sebastian was sooo exited! He played nicely, but he did run into her several times. Next weekend, Sebastian gets to meet Max. |
